Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov is sure that the Balkan countries, not yet involved in it, will join the Southern Gas Corridor (SGC) project.

"Azerbaijan is the initiator of the large-scale energy project Southern Gas Corridor. The important components of this corridor are TANAP / TAP projects. It is a project of energy cooperation and energy security, but the energy and transport corridors do not mean only the transportation of energy and cargo; they are corridors of all-round cooperation. The members of the Southern Gas Corridor project are Azerbaijan, Georgia, Turkey, Bulgaria, Greece, Albania and Italy, and we are sure that at the next stage, other Balkan countries will also join it," the state agency AzerTaj quotes Mammadyarov as saying.
